This is a part-time position and hours of work and days will be defined by supervisor. Evening and weekend work is required as job duties demand.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Intramurals Coordinator, is responsible for the successful operation, coordination, management, evaluation and supervision of all aspects of the Ice Hockey program. This includes supervising all practices and contests, recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes, and conducting all activities within the rules and regulations of Ramapo College.
DUTIES:
* Primary responsibility is instructing / teaching our student-athletes how to perform sports specific skills of ice hockey.
* Supervise all practices and contests.
* Conduct all activities within the rules and regulations established by Ramapo College, the ACHA, NCAA, and other conferences.
* Monitor the academic progress of the ice hockey team.
* Supervise and coordinate with the Director of Intramurals the timely submission of rosters, eligibility forms, practice schedules, athletes' evaluations, and end-of-season evaluations.
* Raise funds as necessary and coordinates with the Director of Intramurals and the Assistant Athletic Director, Finance and Operations.
* Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, and assist in setting up game/field equipment.
* Have knowledge of and ability to instantly implement Athletics' Emergency Medical Plan.
* Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
* Serves as Athletic Facilities Supervisor when necessary
* Required to work Saturdays, Sundays and evenings as needed
* Meet with the Director of Intramurals and the Assistant Athletics Director, Finance and Operations bi-weekly to discuss progress and problems.
* Ensures that dance team comply with all safety requirements as set forth by Ramapo College and ACHA.
* Ensures that ice hockey team comply with all rules.
* Plans team skills development.
* Incorporates and builds team morale.
* Prepares for competition.
* Other duties as assigned.
* Serves as Athletic Facilities Supervisor when necessary

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
* Must have at least two years experience coaching high school or college teams.
* Must demonstrate ability to recruit and retain dance team members.
* Must be willing to support the needs of the program and be flexible with scheduling.
* Must be able to communicate objectively with team.
* Requires a commitment to excellence on game day.
* Helps in mentoring the ice hockey team.
* Commitment to Division III philosophy of athletics.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma, Bachelors Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Successful collegiate or high school coaching experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Must demonstrate excellent leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as computer skills.
