- Cuts and trims all vegetation in the Founders Park and marina.
- Repairs park infrastructure in the fields of electrical, plumbing, masonry and carpentry.
- Manages litter and garbage collection at Islamorada Founders Park and Marina.
- Performs minor maintenance of park and marina equipment.
- Performs chemical applications to athletic fields.
- Stripes and sets up athletic fields for sports activities.
- Operates a variety of mechanical and automotive equipment associates with park and marina maintenance.
- Significant standing, walking, climbing, carrying, bending, handling, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crawling, lifting, reaching and dexterity.
- General maintenance of buildings.
- Performs related work as required
Requirements for Position: High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Florida Driver's License. Some knowledge of civil trades. Outside work in adverse weather is sometimes required. Physical Demand Frequently lift and/or move materials, up to 100 pounds.
- Dig with a shovel and digging bar in all kinds of soil and moisture conditions.
- Work on an incline for various tasks in construction sites, ditches and road slopes.
- Work 3 to 4 feet, twist and lift below surface grade.
- Drive a Village vehicle to and from worksite, and all day when reading water meters.
- Frequently raking, using a backpack blower, using a gas weed eater, operating lawn
- mowers both riding and push mowers, use of mechanical hand tools including saws,
- hammers, drills
- Open and close valves with a turning or twisting motion.
- Work on hands and knees and possibly while lying on one's back.
- Frequently cleaning vehicles, tools and equipment using bending and twisting motion
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to all weather and environmental conditions, inside and out, hot and cold.
- Rain, dusty, and muddy condition at times.
- Work in and around public places.
- Nature of work requires positive skills and tact in Public Relations.
