Responsibilitieshe Imagery Analyst role requires applying geospatial knowledge on how to acquire, analyze, compile, and disseminate raster-based information and intelligence to populate geospatial databases and create Geospatial Intelligence products. Imagery analysts typically work with both panchromatic and multi-spectral (MSI) Electro-Optical (EO) image sensors but may also work with a variety of other sensors such as Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Infra-Red (IR), Hyper-Spectral (HSI), or Light Detection And Ranging (LiDAR). The Imagery Analyst should be familiar with imagery concepts such as spatial and temporal resolution, data processing levels, projections and datums, and geodetic coordinate systems. In addition to understanding the imagery itself, the analyst may need to analyze, compile, and disseminate location-based information and intelligence by capturing data to populate geospatial databases and/or create labels for Geospatial Intelligence products. The geospatial analyst is a flexible role that relies on understanding of basic geospatial concepts of projection, elevation, attribution, and works in conjunction with source materials to update and/or creating new geospatial feature data sets, maps and charts, submitting work through the QA/QC process along a wide variety of mission areas and geographic settings, while meeting deadlines in a high-tempo environment.
