Job Title: Imaging Patient Access SpecialistDepartment: ImagingSUMMARYPerforms a variety of functions including scheduling imaging exams and procedures, greeting patients, arriving patients in Excellian and assisting patients, burning imaging exams onto CD's forcontinuation of care. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, professional phone etiquette, verbal and written communication skills.Follow protocols for appropriately schedule patient exams.Maintain an organized work area and appropriately prioritize job tasks.Demonstrate understanding and skills utilizing of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Excellian/Epic. Have ability to troubleshoot as needed and notify supervisor and/or IT if needed. Maintain patient confidentiality.Able to optimize department workflow, prioritize need of exams from inpatient, outpatient, ED patients in amongst scheduled patients. Acts as liaison between clinic, inpatient, outpatient and ED patient for urgent /emergent scheduling needs.Order supplies for imaging department.Create and maintain department correspondence as needed.Assist in providing quality care for patients.Support policies and procedures of the organization and the standards of the Joint Commission as required for full accreditation.Able to work within deadlines to complete mandatory education.This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position. Medical terminology knowledge and computer skills preferred.
