The student tech position is a paid internship for a currently enrolled imaging student. The Radiology Department at St. Louis University Hospital takes pride in the excellent team we have and the care we provide at our Level 1 Trauma Center. All equipment is DR and less than 3 years old. You will have opportunities to work in the Emergency, ICU, Surgery, and Fluoroscopy.
The schedule for this role requires one day during the week and one weekend shift per month.
Job Summary:
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Radiology Director and Manager produces quality diagnostic medical radiographs to ensure proper diagnosis and quality patient care.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
1) Demonstrates the skills to produce quality radiographs.
2.) Observes established departmental policies, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
3) Attends departmental in-services and meetings as instructed by Manager.
4) Performs other duties as appropriate and needed by supervisors.
Provides service excellence to the customers of Saint Louis University Hospital by delivering timely, high quality care in a courteous, and respectful manner.
Uses Hospital/ Radiology Information system according to policy.
DISCLAIMER: Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Job Specifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Currently enrolled in a approved Radiology Technology program.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Actively in a clinical program through school.
REQUIRED COURSE: CPR preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to blood and body fluid. Exposure to blood borne pathogens and other biological hazards. Subject to varying or unpredictable situations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand for and walk for long periods of time. Ability to lift, push, and pull 100 plus pounds. Ability to move or transfer patients. Ability to deal with strenuous and physical activity daily in lifting, pulling, pushing, patients, radiographic equipment cassettes and/or supplies.
