Substitute Position will be from November 2024 - March 2025 PRIMARY ROLE: The EI/ECSE Specialist provides early intervention and early childhood special education services to early childhood and school age children with special needs and their families in a variety of settings. The Specialist maintains, implements, monitors, organizes and conducts IFSP meetings. The Specialists also communicates with families, community partners and other professionals. QUALIFICATIONS:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in each responsibility and essential function of the position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Individual will hold a valid driver's license and have reliable, insured transportation. If selected for the position, individual will complete a pre-employment background check.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
- TSPC license which allows him/her to provide special education at the preschool level, OR
- Bachelors Degree in early childhood, special education or a related field and be authorized by ODE within 12 months of employment.
- Individuals with TSPC licensure must maintain licensure which allows him/her to teach special education at the preschool level, which has its own professional development requirements.
- Individuals with an authorization from ODE must have a professional development plan based on the EI/ECSE competencies. See for ODE Specialist Authorization information.
