About the job Immigration Paralegal Position: Immigration Paralegal Location: Rochester, New York Job Type: Full-Time, On-site Salary Range: DOE Company Description: We are seeking a dynamic, experienced candidate to join our law firm as an immigration paralegal. The successful candidate will be a part of a national immigration practice, which supports corporate client business groups. This position directly reports to the partners in the Immigration Practice Group. Job Responsibilities:

  • Draft visa petitions and other documents for submission to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, U.S. Department of Labor and U.S. Department of State
  • Interact with clients from diverse organizations, professions, and cultural backgrounds
  • Investigate facts, collect and review source documents and materials
  • Function as a liaison between clients and attorneys
  • Manage client cases to ensure appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Prior immigration paralegal experience strongly preferred; prior paralegal experience and work involving significant writing will also be considered; writing samples will be requested of interviewed candidates
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education sufficient to indicate ability to be successful in the position
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and skill in proofreading complex documents
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to effectively plan work assignments to meet client needs
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently, yet be an active contributor in a focused work team
