The coordinator will beresponsible for collaborating with schools throughout Southern Virginia, act asteam-lead to provide education on unintentional injuries and high-riskbehaviors, development of programming services under direction of IMPACTmanager, and maintaining program data collection. Coordinator positions aresituated at VCU Health hospitals or at community partners, all under the directionof the Injury & Violence Prevention Program. It is essential for candidateto possess reliable transportation to attend training sessions at VCU Health inRichmond, Virginia and to fulfill job duties ofproviding educational programs onsite at schools and community agencies.Core Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement and coordinate existing programs and services for community partners under direction of IMPACT manager.
- Execute all internal functions and operations of IMPACT events to ensure alignment with the organizational mission and values.
- Ensure required data entry in accordance with the specifications of data tracking systems and electronic records management programs under direction of IMPACT manager.
- Participate in and ensure all collection of data, evaluation, pre-posttest, and reports are within compliance of VCU and data is updated within determined time frames.
- Maintain robust collaborative relationship with VCU Health internal partners and community partners in the service of programmatic activities.
- Oversee client and community support, manage event requests, and ensure coverage of all staff needed for events.
- Oversee and manage all equipment and property assigned to the unit.
- Lead IMPACT events, including coordination with schools and community partners, and distribution and collection of required documentation.
- Assist with other tasks as directed by the IMPACT Manager.
Qualifications Minimum Hiring Standards:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, Counseling, or another human service field OR 4-6 years of experience in the field and combination of education and years of experience.
- Experience in public speaking.
- Experience in facilitation of groups and public speaking.
- Experience in working with youth.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
- Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office (Word. Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Dependable Transportation
- The ability for overnight travel (4-5) times per year.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Human Services or Public Health Related Field.
- Able to supervise students of social work or other human services programs.
- 3-5 years of experience working directly with high school students.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience with teaching and public speaking.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret information for senior leaders.
- Ability to oversee team training and access University systems.
