This initiative aims toincrease awareness regarding the implications of trauma associated withimpaired driving, alcohol and substance use, and high-risk behaviors amongyouth across Virginia. The position is situated at VCU Health Propertiesand partner agencies under the direction of the Injury & ViolencePrevention Program. It is essential for candidate to possessreliable transportation to attend training sessions at VCU Health in Richmond, Virginia and to fulfill job duties.Core Responsibilities:
- Assist with and facilitate Project Impact events with planning, implementing, and coordinating programs and services throughout Virginia
- Collaborate with the VCU Trauma team, local law enforcement, EMS, and other first responders to conduct Project IMPACT.
- Assist the IMPACT Coordinator in developing and conducting appropriate learning modules to fit the needs of each school climate.
- Partner with other IVPP prevention programs (Youth Violence Prevention) on collaborative events.
- Assist the IMPACT Coordinator in activities related to all aspects of Project IMPACT, including event setup and collection of required documents.
- Assist with data collection and input all required data, including participant pre-posttest, follow-ups, and evaluations.
- Assist in creating and maintaining program records, reports, and presentations for Project IMPACT.
- Assist with other tasks as directed by the IMPACT Manager.
- Manage all equipment and property assigned to the unit.
Qualifications Minimum Hiring Standards:
- Associate's degree in social work, counseling or other human services field OR 3-5 years of experience
- Experience in public speaking
- Experience working with youth
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail
- Dependable transportation
- Ability to travel overnight 4-5 times per year
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student body or a commitment to do so as a staff member
Preferred Hiring Standards:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, or other human services field
- 1-3 years of experience in public speaking and educational initiatives, specifically targeting youth
- Ability to collect analyze, and interpret information for senior leaders
