International logistics and freight forwarding company in the Manhasset, NY area is seeking an experienced Air and Ocean Import Specialist.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Process and manage our clients Purchase Orders and documentation related to customs clearance,
- Communicate clearly and effectively with origin teams, SSL, Airlines and customers providing full shipping details, pricing, tracking and tracing and updates on any delays,
- Confirm all details on purchase orders with suppliers and clients to ensure accuracy in time of shipping as well as quantities to be shipped or reason for delay,
- Coordinate with Customs Broker Division to ensure timely entry is done and Delivery Orders are out in time,
- Follow up on destination to ensure all releases are in order to expedite delivery of cargo with no delay,
- Perform all relevant milestone updates in the system allowing us to close and invoice the file on time with no delays.
- Ability to handle a high volume of cases.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree Required
- Minimum 5 years logistics experience required
- Mandarin and/or Spanish speaking/writing skills a plus
- Microsoft Office
- Clear Verbal and communication skills
- Detail Oriented
- Working Knowledge of Import/Export regulations related to Ocean and Air Transportation
