Salary: $35,761.00 AnnuallyLocation : Manteo, NCJob Type: Full-timeJob Number: 2024-00660Department: DSS Personal Care ServicesOpening Date: 10/11/2024About the Position Performs human support work providing in-home services to senior citizens and the disabled, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the In-Home Service Aide Supervisor. Job Duties
  • Provides clients with all needed personal care and home management tasks.
  • Ensures clients' safety and well-being; monitors vital signs such as weight, blood pressure, temperature, and heart rates.
  • Transports clients to appointments and essential errands.
  • Communicates changes to supervisor, social workers, and nurses.
  • Completes timesheets, day sheets, and vehicle logs.
  • Performs other assigned duties.
Position Qualifications
  • Some knowledge of basic personal health care methods.
  • Ability to read and carry out detailed instructions.
  • Ability to work with older adults.
  • Ability to work with people from all socio-economic levels.
  • Ability to move and/or assist clients in movement.
  • Ability to carry out health aid work in the home of a client and perform homemaker duties.
  • Ability to practice sound hygiene and sanitation techniques.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and associates.
Education, Experience and Supplemental Information
  • High school diploma or equivalent or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Nursing Assistant certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
