This role reports to the Service Manager and will be based onsite in the Horsham facility.The In-House Service Technician is a key position that is recognized as a critical function for business success. The ideal candidate for this position will have proven ability to perform duties related to diagnosing troubleshooting, repair, modification, service/preventative maintenance and installation of parts and assemblies.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide prompt and quality evaluation, repair and calibration services for all products as received from incoming customer RMA returns.
- Detail-oriented, organized and document all service and repair activities to record accurate service records and generate quotes to customer.
- Maintain and update weekly WIP and service summary.
- Assemble, test, and repair components, assemblies and systems using test equipment
- Work with quality and engineering department to report non-conforming parts/assemblies
- Provide technical assistance to customers (internal and external), as required.
- Follow written, verbal and demonstrated steps and instructions. Interpret schematics and SOPs to determine methods and sequence of troubleshooting and assembly operations.
- Clean and maintain work area to 5S requirements.
- Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships by developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
- Effective use of our ERP system for tracking equipment movement, inventory transactions, report running, note taking, etc.
- Applies equal amounts of skills and dedication to all other duties as assigned.
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
RequirementsQualifying Attributes and Skills:
- Associate or College degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hands-on with mechanical, optical or electronics assembly/disassembly and troubleshooting. 2+ years' experience in scientific instruments or electronics repairs preferable. Experience in industrial or semiconductor gas line connections and fittings a plus.
- Familiar with PC, software operations and Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel to generate reports and data analysis such as graph and trend plotting. Experience in running test scripts, Excel macros, remote connections and commands a plus.
- Understanding of math and statistical analysis concepts such as average, standard deviation, polynomial fitting, normal distribution and SI units.
- Experience in using common hand tools such as wrench, screwdriver, caliper, dial gauge, micrometer...etc.
- Experience in using laboratory equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and similar equipment.
- Experience in ERP or CRM a plus.
- Good communication skills to be able to effectively communicate company and product information to external and internal customers.
- Technical proficiency, scientific curiosity, teamplayer and positive can-do attitude a must. Demonstrates ability to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines. Strong problem solving and time management skills, a results-oriented work ethic, and ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
- Ability to read, interpret and comprehend SOP, schematics, assembly drawings, diagrams (P&IDs), BOM and product specifications.
- Understand the engineering and quality management system processes to ensure compliance to ISO regulations.
- Willingness to assist with tasks, even when the work is out of the scope of responsibilities.
- Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 35 pounds.
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. May require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots.
