Key Responsibilities and Daily Priorities
- Coordinate with Production to prioritize and perform inspections of products in-process within Ancra's Azusa Production.
- Perform 100% inspections to verify that the production processes produce parts that meet requirements.
- Perform periodic assembly inspections at determined intervals.
- Document production non-conformances in accordance with established procedures.
- Monitor Quality objectives and take appropriate action when targets are not met.
- Interpret planning documents, tool designs, engineering drawings, specifications, and quality inspection procedures to develop clear, complete, and precise records of inspection.
- Must be familiar with raw material, metal castings, forgings, extrusions, and machined parts to effectively assess product compliance and production issues.
- Interpret quality documentation to standards and purchase orders (material certifications, test reports, chemical and process certifications) to ensure all requirements have been met prior to hand-off to the internal customer.
- Provide information to the Material Review Board (MRB to document in-process non-conformances in accordance with established procedures.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workflow to support the organizational goals and objectives.
- Minimize documented In-process non-conformances.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) - ANSI 14.5Y.
- Ability to properly handle and use inspection equipment and other instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gage, pin gages, optical comparator, plug/thread gages, radius gages, hardness tester, and operate Hexagon CMM (PC DMIS) if needed.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 preferred.
- Proficient in trigonometry and shop math.
- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
- Good communication, reading, and computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Fluency in Spanish is beneficial but not required.
Years of Experience required5-10 years inspection experience.
Education Requirements: Minimum Associates Science Degree or Equivalent preferred. Trade and Vocational programs welcomed.
