About this Opportunity An Income Maintenance Supervisor II (IMS II) provides supervision, training, and support to staff in the review unit. This position maintains current knowledge and State policy regarding the Family and Children Medicaid program. The goal of this position is to ensure the agency is meeting quality and timeliness standards for the Family and Children Medicaid Programs. This role also assists with hiring, training, and evaluating staff within the assigned unit. Job responsibilities include:
- Directing department employees; instructing, reviewing work, assigning work, maintaining standards, acting on employee concerns, selecting new employees and appraising employee performances
- Reviewing program objectives and service delivery needs with staff as well as formulating specific goals and objectives for this program
- Working directly with internal and external customers and community partner
- Preparing reports/documentation and ensuring the unit is meeting all timeliness and quality measures
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Knowledge of Family and Children Medicaid policies
- Knowledge of NC FAST
- Organizational skills
- Assessments skills
- Communication skills (oral and written)
- Critical thinking skills
Must be available to work during emergency situations. Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree and two year of experience as a casework or investigator in an economic service program and preferably with one year of supervisory experience; or
- Associate degree and four years of experience as a caseworker or investigator in an economic service program and preferably with one year of supervisory experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Direct experience with NC FAST is highly desirable as well as the Intro to Human Services and Income Maintenance Caseworker - NC FAST Certificates. Physical Requirements Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment. Must be able to exert a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
