Job Description

Eagle Hill seeks to partner with an independent contractor ( 1099 ), part-time, to assist with our strategic growth efforts in the federal health space. The Independent Contractor, Business Development would come with a deep understanding of the Health and Human Services (HHS) government operations and possess a strong network across The National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The Independent Contractor, Business Development will play a key role in growing Eagle Hill's federal health consulting practice, starting with the National Institutes of Health,including building, and selling a pipeline of consulting work with new buyers. They will leverage both their understanding of NIH and federal government operations across Eagle Hill's core service lines.

Specific responsibilities may vary, but the role of the Independent Contractor, Business Development may include:

  • Review current growth strategies, provide feedback and recommendations to improve
  • Partner and collaborate with internal DC-based consulting staff and firm SMEs to drive new business development opportunities by leveraging internal resources to create compelling proposals and solutions
  • Develop and execute call plans
  • Advise on teaming and procurement strategies
  • Advise on customer pain points
Qualifications

What are the Required Qualifications?

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 10+ years' experience working for NIH and Federal government entities in DC
  • Strong network across Federal government entities within DC
  • Demonstrated business development experience successfully shaping and selling work
  • Proven track record in gaining prospective client trust and building credibility
  • Experience managing components of business development efforts (e.g., proposals, white papers, capability deck, account plans)
  • Track record of winning proposal responses with a complex set of requirements, multiple volumes, and/or teaming partners
  • Demonstrated excellence presenting to an executive-level audience, both written and oral
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Ability to successfully complete and retain any company, federal, or other background investigations required to perform client work

What are the Desired Qualifications?

  • Previous leadership experience working at NIH, highly desired
  • Previous external client-facing or business development management consulting experience in a leadership capacity
  • Advanced degree in Business Administration or Public Administration
  • Experience in developing new practice area in collaboration with multiple stakeholders

Compensation: This is a 1099 role and is subject to the terms of an independent contractor agreement. A negotiated rate is dependent on the agreed upon objectives and outcomes. Offer not inclusive of benefits.

The position is located in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area, and if hired, must be willing and able to work at our Arlington, VA, office on an as needed basis. Eagle Hill does not cover the cost of relocation. Occasional travel may be required based on business needs.
