Our client, a world-leading Pharmaceutical Company in Kalamazoo, MI is currently looking for a Indirect Procurement Specialist to join their expanding team.A variety of soft skills and experience may be required for the following role Please ensure you check the overview below carefully.Position Details:Job Title: Indirect Procurement Specialist / Pharma IndustryDuration: 18 months contract, extendable up to 36 monthsLocation: Kalamazoo, MINote:The client has the right-to-hire you as a permanent employee at any time during or after the end of the contract.You may participate in the company group medical insurance planJob Description:The Procurement Specialist role is responsible for local stakeholder management, supplier performance management, sourcing and contracting execution.They are responsible for supporting local stakeholders by engaging in key internal / external stakeholder discussions and leading sourcing and contracting events, and for managing tactical supplier performance process & supplier development programs to maximize value for Pharmaceutical stakeholders.Primary market is the Kalamazoo MI site. Primary categories include Capital Construction, Equipment and Engineering Services.Role Responsibilities:Local Stakeholder ManagementCoordinate with local teams to understand their procurement needs and requirements and provide guidance on procurement best practices and proceduresSupport, address and resolve Stakeholders day to day procurement process questionsEngage in key internal / external stakeholder discussions at the local plant / marketContribute to implementing sourcing strategies that support business objectives and deliver valueSupport Sourcing strategies that align with company goals and objectives based on business requirements received from internal stakeholders, including business leaders and cross-functional teamsContribute to the discussions on core processes needed to coordinate across local teams and stakeholdersCollaborate with internal stakeholders, such as operations, finance, and legal teams, to ensure compliance with organizational policies and proceduresSupport Stakeholders with project document review, guidance and tracking of completionOperational Excellence:Support the execution of initiatives that optimize costs through local sourcingIdentify and evaluate local suppliers, negotiate favorable pricing, and track cost savings achievedContribute to the initiatives on process improvement to achieve cost savings, increased productivity, and enhanced supplier performancePerform analysis of spend data to identify cost savings opportunities and develop strategies to optimize procurement processesDevelop and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining quality standardsDevelop and maintain documentation related to procurement activities, including supplier contracts, purchase orders, and delivery reportsContribute to the TPRM Process ExecutionSupport and lead minor supplier payment issue resolutionLead/assist supplier escalation items and performance issue resolutionManagement of site-based contractsLead/assist negotiation of bid exceptions/sole source/single source itemsDevelop RFx content execution in eSourcing systemSupplier Performance Management:Support supplier performance process to maximize value for Pharmaceutical stakeholdersMonitor supplier performance and conduct periodic supplier evaluations to ensure adherence to contractual agreements and quality standardsSupport regular supplier operational interactions and metrics discussions, identify areas for improvement, supplier change and supplier process change approval timeConduct market research to identify potential local suppliers and develop a supplier database to streamline procurement processTrack supplier SLA compliance and develop supplier action plans as neededBasic Qualifications:Minimum of bachelor's degree in Operations & Supply Chain Management, or a related disciplineKnowledge of working on cross-functional projectsAbility to coordinate business operations, client engagement and customer relationship managementAbility to support collaboration with internal stakeholders, such as operations, finance, and legal teams, to ensure compliance with organizational policies and proceduresExperience in identification of local suppliers, supporting negotiation for favorable pricing, and tracking cost savingsAbility to build material for presenting to executive leadershipExperience in developing and maintaining documentation related to procurement activities, including supplier contracts, purchase orders, and delivery reportsKnowledge of industry trends and best practicesComfortable operating in environment with ambiguity & changing market conditionsEffective communications skillsBusiness English requiredExperience:Typical Years of Experience: 3+ years of experience in sourcing & procurement (1+ yrs for MBA/MS)Experience of presenting supplier perspective to internal teamsExperience in monitoring supplier performance, tracking metrics, quality, and complianceExperience of conducting market research to identify potential suppliersExperience of maintaining accurate procurement records and documentationExperience in tracking supplier SLA complianceExperience with contract negotiationsKnowledge:Basic knowledge of the supplier landscape (by category as relevant), including payroll, benefits, recruiting, staffingBasic knowledge of procurement practices & supplier evaluation methodologiesKnowledge of analytical skills and comfort with standard analytical methods and tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Access)Proficiency in PowerPoint, and other relevant softwareBasic knowledge of communication platformsMust Have:Capital and Indirect Procurement Sourcing and Contracting experienceInterview:TeamsSchedule:Monday - Friday / first shiftCommentsMust Have:Capital and Indirect Procurement Sourcing and Contracting experience.Onsite - Must be local to KalamazooMinimum Education:Bachelor's Degree
