Job Description:

The Industrial Automotive Vehicle Painter/ Shop Mechanic position is a full-time, hourly position, in the Frederick, MD shop.

Primary Responsibilities

* Perform body work and painting on industrial equipment and commercial equipment. Will assist in basic mechanical repair on equipment based on customer demand and need. To provide complete customer satisfaction in a polite and professional manner.

Skills and Personal Characteristics:

* High school education and one to three years experience with automotive body work and painting with basic mechanical, electrical and hydraulic experience in a similar environment or equivalent in college or vocational education.

* Ability to communicate effectively with customers, management and co-workers.

* Ability to read and understand necessary service and training manuals.

* Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or demonstrated instructions.

* Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages.

* Ability to maintain a good understanding of industry innovations and product availability in order to make recommendations based on customer need.

* Demonstrate basic mechanical and electrical aptitude.

* Ability to perform heavy physical work, exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 20 pounds constantly, performing such activities as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping.

* Ability to safely operate drills, grinders, pressers, forklift, hoists, overhead cranes and personal hand tools.

* Ability to draw upon available support resources from within the company and recognize when it is appropriate to do such.

* Such other knowledge, skills and abilities are necessary in connection with additionally assigned duties.

Main Tasks

* Effectively restore body and paint condition of customer equipment to like new condition.

* Have the knowledge and skills required to do minor repairs and assist other shop personnel with major repairs.

* Exhibit a professional demeanor; promote goodwill between the company and customers by providing a superior level of customer service.

* Perform necessary repairs and/or modifications to correct or change analyzed situation in a productive manner.

* Follow safety rules and ensure that hazardous waste is disposed of properly.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

* Order parts and supplies, i.e. tape, paper, sandpaper and paint.

* Complete daily timesheet and work orders.

* Maintain service / paint booth area to ensure that it is clean, organized and hazard free.

* Maintain tools in a clean manner and in good repair.

* Responsible for prep activity to include grinding and primer application for forklifts and golf carts.

* Keep current and up to date on all equipment changes and improvements.

* Responsible for having a valid drivers license and maintaining a clean motor vehicle record in accordance with company policy.

* Prepping new and used equipment.

* Responsible for following customers safety and housekeeping guidelines when performing repairs at customer site.
