POSITION SUMMARY

We have an immediate opening for an Industrial Automation Engineer with experience in automation programming for a wide range of projects as they progress from concept to installation. The projects vary greatly and consist of various manufacturing equipment, control room setting, robotics, safety sensors, vision systems, etc. This individual will work independently and hands on with Impact Guard team to design, customize, test, troubleshoot and optimize current and future processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelors or equivalent 2+ experience relevant programming work experience preferred.

Possess relevant programming certifications or coursework preferred.

Advanced proficiency with personal computers to include Microsoft Office, configuration, networking, IP Addresses, etc.

Experience with PLC and HMI software such as Siemens is preferred.

Valid drivers license required.

Possess electrical aptitude and willingness to perform hands on work.

Experience reading and interpreting manuals and electrical drawings required.

Ability to understand and interpret scope of work for specific tasks.

Ability to follow work direction and prioritize assigned tasks.

Ability to perform mathematical calculations, graphing, and scaling accurately.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to work well both independently and as a team.

Ability to meet deadlines.

Willingness to stretch current abilities to learn new skills.

Responsibilities:

Perform PLC and HMI programming, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting on machines, production lines, conveyor systems, etc.

Integrate various instrumentation such as pressure sensors, load cells, flow meters, etc.

Work safely in proximity to a variety of voltages such as 24VDC, 120VAC, 480VAC, single phase and 3-phase.

Interpret electrical drawings and documentation for custom machines, systems, and products.

Configure controls components such as VFDs, servo drives, machine vision systems, robot controllers, field IO racks, etc.

Properly use manuals for proper installation, programming, and troubleshooting of components

Create OEM manuals, documentation, SOPs etc.

Conduct operator training and technical instruction for users.

Collaborate with team members as needed to identify and solve issues.

Provide troubleshooting to follow a problem to the source and solve the issue.

Ensure installed products meet quality and scope expectations.

Follow quality control standards and check lists.

Learn to recognize and communicate design changes to team members.

Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and updated technology.
