****Role Summary****

Under the direction of the maintenance manager, the Industrial Custodian is responsible for maintaining a cleanly facility by completing a variety of cleaning tasks. Their duties include mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning surfaces with disinfectant and emptying trash cans or recycling bins.

****Key Responsibilities****

* Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows, and walls

* Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and conference rooms

* Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed

* Remove debris and snow from sidewalks

* Empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal

* Resupplying or restocking restroom paper products and soaps

* Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities

****Key Qualifications/Requirements****

* Qualified candidates will have 1+ years of custodial preferably in a manufacturing facility setting

* Must have Hi-Lo experience

* Required to know how to operate and maintain floor scrubber

* Good communication skills

* Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them

* Ability to clean and disinfect various surfaces

* Good organization skills

* Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners

* Excellent time-management skills

* Great attention to detail which assists with keeping the facility clean

* Ability to lift and move at least 25 pounds

* Operate cleaning equipment, floor scrubbers and Hi-Lo machines

* Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on requirements

* Restock cleaning supplies as needed

* Follow all health and safety regulations

****Additional Information****

* Some of the physical demands of this position include sitting for prolonged periods of time, walking up and down staircases, occasional lifting, and occasional stooping and bending.

* Some of the equipment and tools used are Power & hand too ls, aerial lifts, forklift/tugger, computers, various software

* Experience in an automotive manufacturing facility preferred

* Experience in safety, quality and housekeeping on the plant floor preferred
