Description The Industrial Custodian will be responsible for maintaining a clean plant in common areas primarily focused on floors and carbon black lay down areas. They will maintain the cleaning equipment for the floors, parking lot and larger vacuum units. This position will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and will assist as needed for cleaning projects and maintenance projects. Work Schedule: 1st Shift: 7am to 3pm - scheduled to work other shifts as needed. Responsibilities
- Utilizes and maintains all floor cleaning equipment (Mobile scrubbers, sweepers, and hand tools)
- Maintains and cleans all exterior areas to comply with Enviornmental Guidelines
- May assist in basic maintenance projects as needed
- Completes required paperwork
- Follows general safety and housekeeping standards
- Makes recommendations to Maintenance Supervisor on how to improve the cleanliness of the site
RequirementsSkills and Abilities
- Manufacturing experience is a plus
- Custodial experience is a plus

Education and Experience
- Preferred high school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; talk and/or hear. Occasionally employee is required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally handle (with mechanical equipment) up to 250 pounds. Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, respirators, face shield, hearing protection, Tyvek suit, gloves, etc. Exposure to noise levels above the OSHA action level may be possible. Proper personal safety equipment is to be used while performing this job as pointed out by plant safety procedures. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock and non-hazardous chemical agents. Employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to hazardous materials as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard.
