Must be available to be on call for after-hours emergencies.Under general supervision of the Lift Stations Team Leader II and Field Services Manager, installs, maintains and repairs electrical systems at the lift stations, ensures that all electrical equipment is maintained and repaired, and ensures lift stations function effectively. Performs skilled journeyman level installation, operation, maintenance and repair of the wastewater collection electrical systems including but not limited to lift stations and grinder systems. May assist with maintenance and repairs at the Water Treatment and Water Reclamation Facilities as needed. Other duties may be required as assigned. This position is considered Mission Essential and is required to report to duty before, during, and immediately after a civil emergency. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring screening for illegal substance abuse. Work is reviewed verbally, through written reports or through observation upon work completion for compliance with work orders and established policies and procedures. Examples of Essential Functions Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical equipment such as telemetry systems, motors, motor control centers, pumps, wells, lift stations, metering equipment, grinder systems and assists with water and water reclamation facilities when necessary. Ensures all electrical work at lift stations complies with federal standards, and codes, and City protocols.Operates a wide range of vehicles including but not limited to excavators, vans, lifts and trenchers. Operates a wide variety of power and hand mechanical tools.Provides assistance wherever necessary within the scope of skill sets and responds to emergency situations, involving the repair and replacement of lift stations, grinder stations, and water treatment and water reclamation operations.Prepares and maintains detailed logs of inspections, repairs and maintenance of all materials and equipment.Assists instrumentation technicians in troubleshooting and repairing PLC's, SCADA, and HMI as required.Orders parts and maintains inventory. Determines materials and methods used in performance of specific assignments from initial planning through implementation and completion.Performs regular corrective and preventive maintenance at all lift stations.Assists in the hiring and evaluation process of personnel.Complies with federal, state and local regulations.Maintains vehicles and equipment utilized in the division to ensure that they are in good working conditionAssists in other utility maintenance operations as required.NOTE: The examples of essential functions listed in this classification specification are not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent; supplemented by six (6) years of experience as described in this job description in utilities collection system operation, maintenance and repair; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
