Responsibilities The Electronic Technicians primary function is to support all assigned maintenance activities. This position requires continued 'on the tools' responsibilities on an as needed basis. On a regular, scheduled basis the Electronic Technicians meets with the planner, Maintenance Manager, and Lead Electronics Technician to review open work orders, current equipment issues and help identify priorities. The Electronic Technician then works with other Electronic Technicians based on those priorities, assists in obtaining needed parts. The Electronic Technician is the primary contact for breakdown issues and corrective actions requested by operations. Other tasks as assigned by management. Safety: Performs all tasks in a safe manner, wearing required PPE and following all safety regulations. BBS participation. Know and understand all Safety rules and guidelines to ensure work is performed safely. Have a clear understanding of and strictly comply with LOTO policy. Be intimately familiar with NFPA 70E and safe electrical work practices. This includes establishing an electrically safe work condition, safe troubleshooting practices, and approach boundaries. Responsibilities: TheElectronic Technicianwill address any outages seen and will ensure, with the Maintenance Manager, that outages are worked until compliance. Work with Operations to address equipment issues an as needed basis. Support the response to daily jobs with operations, planners and engineers. Execute daily activities as needed for each shift Work with outside resources and contractors to support daily workload. Contact additional resources when needed. COMMUNICATION: TheElectronic Technicianwill serve as a conduit for 2-way communication for feedback between operators and maintenance resources in order to work in a collaborative manner. TheElectronic Technicianwill coordinate with operations ensuring any down time is utilized effectively. They will also communicate with Planners any exceptions to the operations schedule so that appropriate adjustments can be made to the maintenance schedule. TheElectronic Technicianis responsible for communication and direction with the Lead Electronic Technician in the morning meetings. This includes participating in the meeting with safety topics and discussion and directing emergency work that is outside of the plan. OTHER: TheElectronic Technicianwill attend schedule meetings, safety meetings, asset meetings, safety reviews for their work area. TheElectronic Technicianwill be responsible for the accurate completion of all paperwork including but not limited to work orders, KPI's, incident reports and the distribution technical data. TheElectronic Technicianwill coordinate and assist other technicians with trouble-shooting activities. TheMaintenance Technicianwill refer to the Maintenance Manager for root-cause solutions to recurring problems. They will follow the resource allocation procedure when problems are occurring. TheElectronic Technicianwill be responsible for fulfilling the tasks as outlined in the daily task lists. Physical demands: Ability to stand and walk 12 hours or more a day on concrete, solid metal or corrugated metal surfaces to perform production duties. Employee must be able to work rotating 12 hour shifts. Ability to sit while driving and operating material handling equipment 1- 3 hours per shift. Ability to sit while entering data into computers, reviewing data, completing reports, etc. Ability to push a wheeled cart filled with scrap, weighing up to 400 lbs., through manufacturing area Employee must be able to climb, bend, stoop and crawl. Employee must be able to lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly. Required to frequently ascend and descend up to three flights of stairs over extremely fast moving machinery. Required to safely access fast moving machinery which includes rolls with inward nip points. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Area may or may not be air conditioned or heated, and may be humid and hot or cold depending on seasonal conditions. Exposure to hot and/or abrasive surfaces. Required to be in tight spaces on occasion and to heights daily. Possible exposure to noise levels over 90 decibels for 12 hours at certain locations. Moving machinery or moving objects on production floor. Floor surfaces slippery at times. Exposure to chemicals which may cause eye or skin irritation and/or burns, and irritation to respiratory system. Exposure to static electricity on occasion. Exposure to and use of sharp implements at times. Exposure to outside elements on occasion. Mental Abilities Ability to make decisions regarding work priorities. Ability to read charts and document numbers and events on paper and in computer. Ability to read electrical indicators and laboratory equipment indicators. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to interact with digital and basic computerized record & control systems.
