The Production Engineer will prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor engineering projects, complying with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.The successful candidate takes a project from the conceptual stage through to completion, considering budgeting and operational considerations, while also establishing the criteria by which project success will be measured. Further, the engineer will be an active part of the plant management team, overseeing the plant maintenance team including mechanical and electrical personnel.Essential duties and responsibilities:- Monitor and analyze mechanical devices for problems- Perform initial and ongoing design reviews- Develop and implement a plant wide preventative maintenance program- Recommend design changes, cost reductions, and warranty improvements- Perform root cause analysis and work towards resolutions- Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment- Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures- Review proposals and confer with management team to develop project objectives and schedule- Develop scopes of work for future capital planning including detailed budgets- Formulate realistic parameters for each project, including design elements and implementation procedures- Design performance tests and conduct them on projects to assure quality- Maintain quality control in every area (budget, scheduling, planning, personnel performance, team dynamics)- Clearly report on project status- Ensure projects are completed on time and within the specified budget- Actively contribute to the company's team-oriented environment- Communicate effectively with project participants in order to provide needed assistance and technical support- Maintain safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations
