Job DetailsJob LocationSKEETER EMERGENCY VEHICLES - HILLSBORO, TXDescriptionSummaryThis Industrial Engineering position will work with Product Engineers to create assemblies and BOMs that willbe used by the Manufacturing and Project Planning departments. The applicant will also be tasked to develop manufacturing and assembly processes for sub-assemblies being installed on the trucks. The Industrial Engineer will use their manufacturing knowledge to help improve designs and throughput of products. Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with Engineering to provide general arrangement drawings for RTB packets.
- Work with Manufacturing to resolve design and quality issues.
- Ensure products are designed in a DFM manner.
- Establish prototype drawings for manufacturing upon request.
- Work with other departments to gather the appropriate information needed to complete a project's BOM.
- Assist Sales Engineering with pre-sale drawings.
- Research and validate new products through the SP process.
Produce BOMs for RTB packets and sub-assemblies as requiredQualificationsQualifications
- 2 years of experience in Manufacturing processes background is required.
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites - MS Word and Excel.
- Must be goal-oriented with good oral and written English communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Must be open to learning and willing to participate in Lean Manufacturing methodology.
- Must be able to work in or learn how to use SolidWorks and Edrawings.
- Must effectively interact and maintain a professional image with customers and team members.
- Able to travel for business 10% - 15% of the time.
- Able to work on site and off site without supervision successfully.
Training Programs and Regular Business Meetings:With appropriate notification, the Industrial Engineer agrees to attend and participate in all career specific seminars, training courses, industry related certification programs and internal company training and or meetings recommended or scheduled by the business. As an Industrial Engineer, you are expected to maintain composure with all customers, vendors and employees at all times and to carry out all defined duties in a professional manner.Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in industrial or mechanical engineering or design field and 2 plus years of experience.
- Drafting, Design, Engineering, Manufacturing processes: 2 years
- Fire service equipment and service body experience is a plus but not required.
