Job Description:

Our Cincinnati client is a differentiated provider of superior quality sewn, sealed and upholstered products for 60+ years. They specialize in custom manufacturing making top quality products for the HealthCare, Outdoor Covers, Government Contracts and Institutional markets. They are fully equipped to cut, sew, seal, assemble and run logistics like warehousing and shipping. They regularly reconfigure their shop floor to meet the changing needs of clients. They are seeking an Industrial Engineer to maximize production efficiency and effectiveness by using time studies, product flow analysis, line layout, process sheets, and new product tooling and machinery. The Industrial Engineer develops and tests solutions for manufacturing technical problems. The Industrial Engineer assists engineers, inspects products, conducts product tests and collects test data.Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize samples, prototypes and prints to develop product drawings, line layouts, tooling, and job sequences.
  • Use software to create 2D designs.
  • Communicate with customers to get clear specifications for prototype creation.
  • Suggests design enhancements for improvement of products.
  • Works with Production Department to ensure projects are on schedule, accurate and completed on time
  • Provides feedback to sales department regarding the feasibility and potential of new products.
  • Work with production on the introduction of new or revised products (i.e. alterations to tooling, work aids, or specific machine training)
  • Review production schedules and engineering processes to maximize efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing process problems and suggest applicable solutions.
  • Develop and coordinate line layouts and plant layouts, implement any changes resulting from those layouts.
  • Design, Create and revise patterns and drawings.
  • Develop maintain and manage manufacturing process sheets.
  • Develop layouts for products
  • Develop prototypes
  • Work with purchasing on fabric sourcing
  • Work with engineering on product fixes
  • Maintain production development records and part numbers
  • Manage material testing
  • Create Quotes
  • Train employees
Education and Experience
  • Industrial Engineering Degree
  • 5+ years experience in application of design methods and manufacturing processes utilizing fabrics and soft goods
