Job Description:
Position Summary The Manufacturing Industrial Engineer is responsible for the labor management program including continuous process improvement efforts designed to improve productivity and lower operating cost. Will provide the expertise and leadership in project management to maximize our total performance and operating capability of each functional group in Manufacturing, ensuring leadership is trained and is following best methods. Will support project management related to best practices, technology applications, material handling systems, facility planning, labor management systems and procedures to ensure that business and project objectives are achieved.Position DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Maintain the Labor management & Engineered Standards Program for Manufacturing, including developing standards for new operations.
  • Monitor the accuracy of the installed standards on a continuous basis; conduct follow-up studies to verify standards.
  • Identify improvements in methods, procedures, equipment, or workflow which increase output or quality.
  • Collect the data necessary to update the current standards to reflect any changes to an operation.
  • Hold meetings with managers and team members to present changes in procedures, equipment, and/or standards.
  • Maintain complete records of all time studies or other data used to change standards.
  • Update existing documentation to reflect changes in procedures, equipment, or standards.
  • Drive process standardization and improvements inside the four walls of the facility to ensure the success in meeting its objectives.
  • Define and optimize operator tasks and rebalance operations to achieve optimal headcount.
  • Provide project management leadership and is responsible for the development of our labor management systems / projects.
  • Work with leadership in the discovery of inefficiencies in day-to-day operations and challenges while drawing support for change across the network.
  • Lead the solution development, cost benefit analysis and implementation of distribution improvement opportunities in their Manufacturing.
  • Support business development by assisting in developing solutions to support the pursuit of new business through providing operational expertise and systems knowledge.
  • Research and maintain knowledge of emerging industry practice.
  • Ability to drive projects with diverse teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions and summarize results for senior leadership.
QualificationsEducation/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in in Industrial Engineering, operations analysis, logistics, supply chain or related field from accredited institution. Minimum 2 - 5 years of experience as an industrial engineer, operations/business analyst or consultant. 1-3 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or process engineering. Knowledge with Lean Applications. Experienced in quantitatively solving ambiguous problems at a systems level. Extensive knowledge in statistical data analysis is a plus. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and AX system preferred. Motion Time System (MOST) to develop Engineered Standards is required.Certificates and Licenses: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt certification and experience is preferred (not mandatory).Position Hiring RangeThe hiring pay range provides a guide for what we would reasonably pay for the position. Pay will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant's education, relevant work experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Living Spaces reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Pay is determined by various factors including market demand, applicable skills, work experience and education, location, company budget, and in-demand skill sets.Compensation: $85,800.00 - $114,400.00Retail, Guest Services, and Distribution Center Team Members are eligible to receive team bonus based on meeting specific goals and KPI's.
