Job Description:
Essential Functions: Provides information and assistance regarding technical support, and general information as requested. Demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written and able to interact with all organizational levels. Reads and understands operating manuals, parts manuals, service manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings. Provides feedback to make documentation more effective. Demonstrates a working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, including load-sense hydraulics and CANBUS control systems. Travel to customer sites to assist and perform with troubleshooting and remedying machine performance issues. Able to operate and inspect cranes to diagnose issues. Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with specifications Document problem resolution through writing field service reports and reviewing the report information with relevant departments to support continuous improvement activities. Acts as a liaison between the Service department and Engineering department Required to identify opportunities for improvements and submit in accordance with Continuous Improvement Program. Provide customer service in a corporate environment interacting with all levels of an organization. Provide educational seminars for distributors and/or customers. Able to travel and work non-traditional hours when required to provide superior customer service. Ensure compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures for a goal of zero incidents ad injuries. Communicate consistently on all activities to appropriate individuals (internal and external). Maintain ongoing communication and adhere to all Company policies to eliminate and or reduce exposure to liability. Special projects or work as assigned by the Supervisor.Additional Responsibilities: Complies with Quality Management System requirements in accordance with ISO9001. Maintains the confidentiality of all data. Sets positive example for others to follow.Experience/Training/Education:Required: College graduate Engineering or Engineering technology degree, or equivalent, plus minimum 3 years of related experience. Experience with mobile equipment power train, hydraulic, electric and CANBUS systems. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Positive attitude, willingness to learn, solid math skills, and Customer Service experience. Desired: Engineering or Engineering technology degree, training in mechanical, hydraulic, and / or electronic assembly.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Requires good communication, interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and follow instructions. Requires an eye for detail. Thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable operating and documentation procedures and material flow; Ability to meet deadlines; to understand and follow written and verbal instructions; Ability to understand and follow posted work rules and procedures; ability to accept constructive criticism; ability to prioritize, organize, solve problems, and complete tasks independently; ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with supervisors, members of management, vendors, and other employees.Physical and Environmental Elements:This is a production classification and employees work indoors (in all seasons) with exposure to heat, cold, noise, chemicals, heavy equipment and machinery. Accurate hand/eye coordination is required. Finger dexterity is required, as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull. Work involves considerable climbing, twisting, bending, squatting and kneeling for long periods of time. May lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds and pull approximately 20 lbs.
