Our client in the environmental compliance industry is seeking a Industrial Laboratory Technician to join their team. As a Industrial Laboratory Technician, you will be part of the Laboratory department supporting the Environmental Manager and production personnel. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills, be detail-oriented, and a good team player which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Industrial Laboratory Technician

Location: West Point, Virginia

Pay Range: $27-30/hr

What's the Job?

• Collect and analyze samples: Perform sampling of wastewater, storm water, groundwater, raw materials, intermediate products, finished products, and wastes in an industrial setting.
• Perform laboratory analyses: Conduct tests such as biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), total suspended solids (TSS), and pH using on-site laboratory instruments.
• Maintain laboratory equipment: Ensure proper preventive maintenance and care of laboratory instruments, and manage chemical inventory.
• Conduct inspections: Inspect oil tanks and hazardous waste accumulation areas, complete checklists accurately, and report any issues identified.
• Data management: Enter analytical results into databases or spreadsheets for reporting purposes.

What's Needed?

• Education: Bachelor of Science in chemistry or Associate Degree.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in an industrial setting, taking samples and running analytical tests.
• Technical proficiency: Competent in running BOD analyses and using Excel spreadsheets to generate reports and graphs.
• Physical capability: Able to walk comfortably and safely through a large industrial facility, including climbing stairs, and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Driver's license: Must have a current driver's license and be able to drive a company vehicle to access sampling locations.
