Job Description:
Fenner Dunlop is looking for an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our Port Clinton manufacturing team! Starting base pay rate of $38.00/hour plus $3.00/hour for off shifts.Fenner Dunlop, a Michelin Group company, designs and manufactures the widest range of bulk material handling conveyor belts in the world. We strive to be the premier provider of the safest and most reliable conveyor belting and services to a variety of heavy industrial markets such as coal mining, hard rock mining, sand, gravel, wood handling, power generation, pulp and paper. Fenner Dunlop provides North American made belting, manufactured at our facilities located throughout the United States and Canada. For over 150 years, Fenner Dunlop has researched, designed, developed, manufactured, and tested its conveyor belting products, supporting nearly any type of conveyor application, and providing the right solutions to protect conveyor system investments in the harshest conveying environments.Primary Duties:Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, equipment, and components in a manufacturing plant.Perform routine maintenance and inspections on mechanical systems and equipment to prevent issues and ensure optimal performance.Implement predictive maintenance techniques to proactively identify and address potential issues before they escalate.Maintain accurate records of all mechanical work performed, including inspections, maintenance, and repairs.Maintain an inventory of mechanical supplies and equipment (i.e., spare parts, materials, etc.), ensuring availability for repairs and projects.Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify issues, validate equipment functionality, and conduct rigorous testing and calibration of equipment and systems.Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.Use troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to address challenges with precision and efficiency.Ensure mechanical systems are operating safely and efficiently to support the plant's production goals.Ensure mechanical systems comply with safety codes and standards.Conduct comprehensive reviews of mechanical systems, assisting in other departments as required.Actively seek opportunities to recommend improvements that enhance function and efficiency, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.Demonstrate flexibility by undertaking tasks as deemed necessary or instructed by management, ensuring a responsive approach to operational needs.Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues on maintenance procedures and best practices.Work independently and with other team members to complete tasks and repairs timely and safely.Use maintenance management and ERP systems correctly to track maintenance activities, manage inventory, and plan repairs.Train and mentor fellow employees.Experience/Education:Minimum education of High School Diploma or Equivalent.Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance roles, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Experience in troubleshooting, repairs, installations, use of diagnostics tools and testing equipment, software relevant to maintenance tasks, and preventive maintenance tasks for a wide range of equipment and systems.Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.Strong reading, writing, comprehension, and math skills.Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure while resolving maintenance issues efficiently and safely.Good communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Additional vocational training, technical certifications, and/or an Associates degree is preferred.Must pass a knowledge test to demonstrate understanding of essential electric and mechanic concepts and practices.Working Conditions/ Physical Demands:Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basisAbility to move 50 pounds on a regular basisAbility to work shifts, weekends, and/or holidaysFrequent manual dexterity (e.g., grasping, pulling, etc.)Routinely stand, squat, and/or work in confined spacesVisual acuity (color, depth, field of vision)Exposure to hazards (e.g., mechanical, electrical, chemical, gases, etc.)Work in varying atmospheric conditions (e.g., fumes, dusts, gases, etc.)Work in varying physical conditions (e.g., noise, humidity, vibration, weather changes, etc.)What We OfferAt Fenner Dunlop, a Michelin Group company, we care about work/life balance as well as the health and financial wellbeing of our employees and their families.
