Job Description The Maintenance Mechanic installs, maintains, repairs, dismantles, overhauls, reassembles, adjusts and tests various types of plant machinery, equipment structures and electrical or electronic equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic will:
- Weld, braze, scrape, solder and cut various types of metals necessary for maintenance repairs and fabrication of new components and equipment
- Perform a variety of trade functions such as plumber, mason, carpenter and metal worker, etc. in performance duties
- Construct rigging and scaffolding
- Move heavy machinery and equipment
- Lubricate, grease, and oil plant machinery and equipment
The Maintenance Mechanic should have:
- Experience installing, maintain and troubleshooting various types of machinery
- Experience with 480v motors and controls
- Experience reading blue-prints, wiring diagrams, shop hand-books and layouts
Qualifications
- 4 years of relevant work experience OR 2 year technical degree
- Journeyman cardholder preferred
- High School degree or GED
- Basic PC literacy (Word, email, basic data entry)
- Able to lift 40 lbs. on a regular basis
