Whether you will spend your day brainstorming in an office cubicle, operating a crane, running manufacturing equipment or troubleshooting technical obstacles, at CMC, you'll get the training and support from your team that you need to excel in your role and reach your full potential.What You'll DoEffectively monitor and inspect equipment for defectsParticipates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety CulturePerform additional duties as neededPerform all facets of the repair safely while utilizing hand tools, power tools and precision tools at different heights or adverse conditionsPerform building maintenance as requiredPurchase supplies and parts for repair, track purchase requisitions when necessaryAble and willing to cross train as requiredAttend extensive training regarding applicable equipmentMaintain good general housekeeping, keeping clean equipment and work area. Keep all tools in good working conditionPerform predictive/preventive/corrective maintenance, utilize computer systems and programs for documentation of maintenance/safety activities; perform time entry, enter notifications and work orders, enter corrective actions/commentsRepair and maintain shop machinery and mechanical equipment including overhead cranes, shears, benders, threaders, forges, induction heaters, and weldersWork with other Technicians on job orders and troubleshootingWhat You'll NeedMust be able to work outside under all weather conditions to include working in the heat and cold weatherWelding skills preferredAble to read technical documents and service manuals, write clearlyBoth mechanically and electrically inclined with experience working in both areasExperience servicing and repairing industrial equipmentFollow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulationsMinimum 4 years preferably in a heavy industrial environmentPossess a strong work ethic and practice safe working habitsSpecific knowledge of hydraulics a plusAbility to work as a team player in a fast paced environment, with strong work ethic, pay attention to detail and find root causes for issuesPossess proficient skills utilizing hand tools, power tools and precision tools for performing all facets of the repair and maintenance processWork on rotating shifts with some overtime requiredAble to work overtime as business requiresMust be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps, work outside under all weather conditions when neededYour EducationHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is requiredWe are CMC, a Fortune 500 company at the leading edge of our industry.
