COFFEE COUNTY SCHOOLSJob DescriptionIndustrial Maintenance TeacherResponsible to: PrincipalDirector of Career and Technical EducationQualifications:1. Valid TN Teacher's License with Manufacturing 760, HVAC 707, Welding 705, Electrical701 or Computer Aided Drafting 700 endorsement, or 3 out of the last 5 years fieldexperience and enrollment into a Teacher Prep Program2. Highly Qualified status, as applicable, in areas of assigned instruction3. Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills4. Competent technological skillsEssential Responsibilities:1. Prepares lesson plans and teaching strategies for course(s) of study taught2. Aligns both course(s) curriculum taught and/or assessments with state and localcurriculum standards3. Career and Technical Student Organization participation4. Uses a variety of teaching strategies to facilitate student learning5. Plans a program of study that addresses the individual needs and abilities of thestudents6. Develops and maintains a school/classroom environment conducive to learning andsocially appropriate for the age of students taught7. Analyzes and uses appropriate data to guide instruction and develop assessments8. Establishes and communicates clear expectations for all lessons, class work, andprojects.9. Assigns lessons routinely and corrects student work in a timely fashion10. Maintains good order in classroom and other areas of the school11. Supervises students at school related functions including on and off campus activities12.Consults with other professionals to address learning or behavioral problems withspecific students13.Communicates with parents/guardian regularly through verbal and written form14. Assesses the progress of students on a regular basis, both formative and summative,and provides progress reports as required15. Schedules parent conferences as directed by the system and as needed in particularcases; if necessary, these conferences may be outside the school day as dictated bystudent/parent/guardian needs16.Keeps accurate attendance and academic performance records for assigned students17.Reports to the appropriate administrative and/or consultative personnel whenknowledgeable or suspicious that a child's health or welfare has been or appears to beat risk18. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment,materials, and facilities19. Participates in school level faculty meetings, system professional development and in-service meetings, staff committee meetings, and other workshops for teacher training20. Plans, supervises, and provides guidance for teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s)21. Maintains accurate financial records22. Provides detailed plans for substitute teachers including lessons, schedules and rulesregarding classroom organization, procedures and individual student needsGeneral Requirements:1. Conducts oneself in the best interest of students, in accordance with the higheststandards of public education and in support of the District's Vision/Mission Statements3.
