Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanic - Millwright to join our Philadelphia-based manufacturing team. This role involves pipe fitting, machining, fabricating parts for production machinery, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, and installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems, and supporting daily facilities activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand and power tools; reassemble equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure smooth operation of machines, efficiency of building systems, and upkeep of physical property.
- Inspect drives, motors, and belts; check fluid levels; replace filters; and perform other maintenance actions.
- Assemble, install, and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
- Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
- Record maintenance and repair work performed and associated costs.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other machinery parts.
- Dismantle devices using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools to remove defective parts.
- Align and balance new equipment after installation.
- Perform minor and routine maintenance on all relevant equipment regularly.
- Ensure the physical property remains in good condition and address any unsafe conditions promptly (e.g., broken gates, damaged fencing, burnt-out exterior lights, illegal dumping).
- Fix and repair miscellaneous mill equipment.
- Repair and rebuild pumps.
- Remove and reinstall electric motors.
- Perform rigging tasks.
- Conduct general building maintenance.
Qualifications:- Familiarity with industrial electrical equipment, including PLCs and controls.
- Knowledge of pumps, grinders, conveyor belts, gear-drives, and motors.
- Experience in general building maintenance, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing; licensing in at least one discipline is preferred.
- Hands-on experience in maintenance within an industrial environment.
- Good physical condition with sufficient strength to perform job functions, including heavy lifting and mobility to traverse properties, mount ladders, and stairs in multi-story buildings.
