We are looking for a talented and meticulous Industrial Painter specialized in Powder Coating to join our team. This role entails preparing surfaces, applying coatings, and achieving high-quality finishes on Antenna and Radome products and structures. The ideal candidate should possess a thorough grasp of painting techniques, safety procedures, and the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
* Preparing surfaces through cleaning, sanding, and application of primers or sealants for optimal adhesion of coatings.
* Applying industrial paints such as epoxy, polyurethane, acrylic urethane, carc, or powder coat using spray or electrostatic methods.
* Mixing paints accurately to achieve desired colors and consistencies, ensuring precise color matching.
* Maintaining and cleaning painting equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure functionality and prevent coating contamination.
* Inspecting painted surfaces for flaws, imperfections, or inconsistencies, performing touch-ups or rework as needed.
* Adhering to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of chemicals.
* Maintaining detailed records of paint and coating usage, surface preparation processes, and completed projects.
* Collaborating with team members, supervisors, and project managers to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
* Following project specifications and timelines, meeting quality standards and environmental regulations.
* Staying updated on industry trends, new techniques, and emerging technologies to enhance painting processes.
YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:
* High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in painting or related field preferred.
* Minimum 3 years of proven experience in powder coating in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of painting techniques, coatings, and surface preparation methods.
* Familiarity with various paint sprayers, including HVLP, electrostatic, and pressure pot/cup gun.
* Ability to accurately mix and match paints and understand ratios down to ounces.
* Clear understanding of dry booth painting and paint specifications for required finishes.
* Ability to interpret blueprints and other engineering drawings, work orders, and BOMs.
* Solid understanding of safety protocols, chemical handling, ventilation, and PPE usage.
* Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Physical stamina to work in various conditions and pass pulmonary function and face fit tests.
* Excellent communication, teamwork, time management, and organizational skills.
