The Division of Industry and Manufacturing Programs Marketing and Communications is responsible to the Dean of Industry and Manufacturing Programs at Lamar State College Orange. Primary roles of this position are to conceptualize and implement strategic and tactical marketing, social media, and communications plans that create positive brand value among targeted audiences, increase awareness of Division programs and services, bring prospective students into the enrollment pipeline, and positively promote the College and the Division of Industry and Manufacturing Programs to the community. This position works closely with the College Marketing team to ensure that the College's Vision and Mission are depicted in all marketing and communications initiatives.
1. Creates and leads progressive marketing campaigns and communications strategies aimed at promoting Industry and Manufacturing Programs and its operations in the community utilizing all media outlets.
2. Provides leadership and direction for external and internal communications, portraying a consistent, recognizable, and positive public image.
3. Works collaboratively with the Dean, Department Chairs, Program Directors, Faculty, and other college staff to ensure proper branding and marketing strategies for departmental print and digital publications.
4. Manages the Industry and Manufacturing Programs brand and visual identity.
5. Collaborates with the College's Web Master to ensure that the website achieves strategic design, navigation, and user-experience goals. Ensures Division information is up to date.
6. Updates the Dean, Chairs and Directors on a quarterly basis on the status of the social media marketing and communications campaigns related to the desired image and priorities of Division.
7. Oversees development and management of web and digital marketing content to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and effectiveness of promotional information.
8. Controls and monitors Industry and Manufacturing Programs social media platforms and postings. Develops new communication channels.
9. Initiates and coordinates regular interviews and photo shoots with local radio and news media to market Industry and Manufacturing Programs events.programs, students
10. Establishes and cultivates strong relationships with media, community leaders, government officials, donors, and alumni.
11. Attends division events/functions to obtain and provide appropriate media coverage, as directed, even after normal business hours.
12. Coordinates photography of all division events
13. Works with the Director of Print Services to maintain archives of media coverage and campus photography.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Mass Communications, Social Media Marketing, Public Relations, or related discipline required. Master's degree preferred.Experience.
A minimum of one year of experience in public relations, communications, marketing, social media marketing or a related field is required. Experience in higher education marketing or public relations preferred.Must have a thorough knowledge of marketing strategies and experience in implementing a comprehensive marketing plan.

Ability to work flexible schedule, as necessary, to support college events during times that may include, but not be limited to, mornings, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays.
Requires constant sitting, walking, and seeing. Requires frequent standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to twenty-five pounds; operating a personal computer and various office equipment. Requires infrequent stooping, bending, sorting, and filing.
