We are seeking Asssistant Teachers in both our Infant and Toddler Departments. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to cooperate with the lead teacher to implement a full-day, year-round developmentally appropriate curriculum including lesson plans with opportunities for project based learning, inclusion of materials to scaffold learning, and rotation of toys and equipment on a regular basis. An Assistant teacher must be able to supervise and direct children in the daily routine of the classroom. The Assistant teacher must assist the teacher to provide a safe, responsive, stimulating environment that encourages children's independence and self-selection of activities. The Assistant must form and maintain professional relationships with both families and co-workers at DayStar. The teacher must be at least 18 years old. A minimum of a high school diploma is required. A CDA is preferred. Compliance with all Indiana Licensure and Path's to Quality guidelines is a must. All employees will maintain a minimum of 20 hours of professional development per year. This position requires four 10 hour shifts.
