Join Our Team as an Infection Control Nurse at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Pawling!We are proud to be a 5-star CMS rated facility and are currently seeking a dedicated full-time Infection Control Nurse.Position Overview: As the Infection Control Nurse, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of infection prevention protocols within our facility. Your role will involve identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting healthcare-associated infections and communicable diseases. You will collaborate with staff to create, educate, and sustain effective infection prevention strategies while providing ongoing feedback. This position also includes conducting staff development and quality assurance performance improvement monitoring to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.Key Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and evaluate the facility's infection prevention policies and procedures, including surveillance, pandemic preparedness, hand hygiene, standard precautions, and outbreak management.Monitor resident care practices and maintain the resident health program.Collaborate with the RN Educator to provide infection prevention training at hire, at least annually, and whenever adherence lapses occur; establish competency demonstration processes after each training.Serve as an expert resource for residents, families, partners, providers, visitors, and the community regarding infection prevention and control measures.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory and mandatory reporting requirements.Stay updated on CMS, state, federal regulations, and public health guidelines.Participate in interdisciplinary performance and quality improvement processes.Review OSHA standards and the exposure control plan to ensure best practices for occupational health.Contribute to the antibiotic stewardship program, including protocols for antibiotic use and monitoring.Qualifications:Strong collaboration, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to implement evidence-based guidelines.Proficient in data collection, analysis, and presentation.CDC Certification is required or must be obtained shortly after hire.What We Offer:Competitive compensationComprehensive benefits packageOpportunities for professional growth and stabilityInnovative training programsAnd much more!Ready to Make a Difference?
