Summary: Under the general direction of the Director of Information Technology, the Informaticist/Report Writer will leverage standard tools to extract, analyze, and report data from our central data repository. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, informatics, and report writing, with the ability to translate complex data sets into clear, actionable insights.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize standard data extraction and report writing tools to access and analyze data from our Meditech Magic, Allscripts and corporate central data repositories. - Design, develop, and maintain reports and dashboards that provide insights to various stakeholders. - Collaborate with department heads and management to understand data needs and deliver accurate and timely reports. - Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all reports and data extracts. - Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize data quality and efficiency. - Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques to provide ongoing reports. - Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. - Work closely with the IT team to prioritize business and information needs. - Provide technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Informatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. - Proven working experience as a data analyst, report writer, or informaticist. - Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, etc.), databases (SQL, etc.), and programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks). - Report writing in direct SQL coding experience in Allscripts and Meditech Magic databases - Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.). - Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Preferred : IT experience in a healthcare or hospital setting.
