The Veterans Home at Holyoke is seeking an experienced and innovative professional who can provide oversight to several informatics project areas. The Informatics Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their clinical and business processes. The Informatics Coordinator will support the implementation, oversight, and administration of, not limited to EMR (electronic medical records) and EMA (electronic medication administration) and leverages best practice experience and knowledge of standard practice guidelines, in order to guide the creation of operational and clinical contents within clinical applications. The incumbent develops clinical workflow solutions and designs configuration of operational and clinical systems (i.e. policy management, scheduling, human resources, care management, and telehealth) based on operational best practices, clinical and business content, usage analytics, and system experience. Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive): Support the Administrative and Clinical Teams with the design of the use of operational and clinical systems based on data to improve the following: The delivery of operational and healthcare and services to our patients and staff. The efficiency and efficacy of clinical operations, direct care, and care management activities. Provide insight for cross-functional teams including Clinical, Information Technology, and Business Intelligence to ensure that the needs of Business and Clinical operations are met. Develop clinical workflow solutions and design configuration of operational and clinical systems. Create monitoring systems and matrixes to provide ongoing evaluation of the systems' ability to meet the needs of the agency. Contribute subject matter expertise in order to implement systems across the facility. Provide input in the decisions regarding the management and use of existing operational and clinical-facing systems or selection of new system to meet the needs of the agency. Work with stakeholders to design workflows and processes that use best-practices. Develop user policies and procedures. Perform or provide expert knowledge to impact analyses for system changes upon operations. Serve as a communication liaison between clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders. Guide the informatics, clinical, and operations teams to rapidly orient to and analyze clinical/operations need, delivering an effective process-technology solution. Perform day-to-day work with internal clinical/business stakeholders to understand their most critical clinical/process-technology needs and assist in issue resolution. Evaluate data collection workflows and identify opportunities to streamline manual processes. Schedule: This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week) position working Monday-Friday from 7:30am-3:30pm Please n ote: This is 24 hour/7 days a week facility. The Veterans Home at Holyoke may require this individual to be present during nontraditional hours when circumstances dictate the operational need Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience and ability to apply concepts in computer science and information technology to the management and processing of data/information in a clinical environment. Assist in the administration and oversight of clinical systems both for the processing of EMR and the PHI data, as well as hands on technical support in areas with network and secured Wi-Fi management. Healthcare and/or nursing experience a plus. Proactively assist users with the systems problems and questions via telephone, in person or in email. Required Qualifications: Ability to facilitate large and small groups and to speak clearly in public settings. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others. Ability to schedule time effectively. Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information. Ability to collaborate with others in accomplishing assigned work objectives.
