Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for an Information Research Specialist 1 position at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM.

Salary: $31/hr - $37/hr

Location: Onsite in Los Alamos, NM

Citizenship: US citizenship Required

Work Schedule: 9/80s

Clearance: Must already hold a Q clearance.

Impact

As an Information Research Specialist at LANL Research Library, you will play a crucial role in preserving and organizing historical technical reports. Your work will ensure proper classification, distribution, and storage of valuable scientific and technical information, contributing to the laboratory's knowledge management and security protocols.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Review historical technical reports for classification and distribution levels
  • Sort and prepare technical reports for offsite storage
  • Index technical reports and create detailed inventories
  • Enter information into library information management and records management systems
  • Prepare materials for shipping and destroy discarded materials as appropriate
  • Apply Laboratory policies and procedures to resolve various issues
  • Contribute to the fulfillment of projects and organizational objectives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active DOE Q clearance
  • Ability to work onsite at LANL
  • Minimum of two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to lift print materials and/or archival boxes up to 25 pounds

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of records management, archives, or library science principles
  • Familiarity with standard theories, concepts, and techniques in the field
  • Ability to analyze situations and data, reviewing various factors
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in using information management systems
