Type: Full Time Location: Quantico VA with some telework Overtime Exempt: No Reports To: ARMADA HQ Security Clearance Required: Active Top Secret, TS/SCI preferred CONTINGENT UPON AWARDING OF GOVERNMENT CONTRACT The Information Security Specialist shall manage and perform the following: Duties & Responsibilities:
- The Information Security Specialist (ISS) shall receive requests from various NCIS directorates for approval of release of information under the various inquiries from other government agencies, private organizations, and the public. The ISS will conduct internal declassification reviews as appropriate to achieve optimized records management. The Information Security Specialist is to review at the minimum 300 pages per week. The ISS will review and provide weekly status updates on review to requestor/customer. The ISS will provide a monthly status report to the Government Lead, which shall include how many reviews they have completed.
- The ISS ensures that all documents forwarded for classification/declassification review are entered into the Declassification Tracker database when received and updated when the review is completed.
- The ISS prepares a written memo for each review stating the results, recommendation and final determination. Upon completion, forward memo to the Declassification Authority for signature prior to submission to requestor. Ensure all associated correspondence, and documents are appropriately filed and returned to the requester as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- In-depth understanding of information security principles and practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of classification and declassification processes.
- Knowledge of records management and optimized records management practices.
- Understanding of government regulations and guidelines related to information security and classified information.
Minimum General Experience:
- The Information Security Specialist must be eligible AND adjudicated for a Top Secret security clearance. Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility is preferred. The ISS will not be able to start work until TS/SCI eligibility is granted by the DoD Consolidated Adjudication Services (CAS).
- 1-2 years of relevant experience and skills in records management and administration skills.
- 2-4 years security specialist experience and working in a classified environment.
- 1-2 years of Information Security/Classification Management experience preferred but will accept Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) reviewing experience.
Minimum Education:
- 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
