OVERVIEW
The Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) provides critical support services to over 13,000 employees. MaineIT oversees large scale enterprise applications and computing infrastructure that supports the critical and diverse business needs of the State of Maine executive branch and its agencies. The incumbent will be joining the Enterprise Software Licensing team, responsible for assessing customer software needs, deploying and managing software licenses as well as renewals. This job is 90% remote and requires that you be in the Augusta, ME office two days a month.

ABOUT THE JOB
Do you have a passion for Software Licensing, renewals, troubleshooting, and making customers happy? We do that. We are a customer-facing team who work closely with our account managers, customers, and other teams in client tech to deliver the software they need to get the job done!

You will have an exciting opportunity to work on a full range of system administration functions requiring a technical computer support background. You will be on a high performing team with exceptionally skilled IT professionals to support user groups across all state agencies and business units.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, downloading, evaluating, testing, and deploying licensed software to managed endpoints. Working closely with account managers during the renewal process each year for all our software titles. Working within our software portals to deploy licensed software. Work is performed under limited supervision and requires a high degree of attention to detail. Teamwork is essential. We all help each other regardless of our roles, thus a multi-technical skilled candidate with a diverse background in systems is preferred.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
+ Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on our many software titles we manage and deploy.
+ Work with our VARS on statewide Software Renewals for the many software titles we control.
+ Work within many software portals managing, assigning, transferring, and removing licenses for our customers in the state of Maine.
+ Manually install software on our end points on occasion.
+ Test and evaluate software and hardware products to determine applicability and value to agency operations.
+ Provide support and understanding of license agreements when it pertains to government agencies.
+ Work with approved vendors to obtain quotes to purchase licensed software.
+ Utilize remote tools for support, troubleshoot, diagnose hardware and software issues related to Windows clients.
+ Provide limited training to the end users for them to achieve nominal performance in computing.
+ Collaborate with other teams outside/within Client Technologies to resolve problems.
+ Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises to ensure preparedness in the event of an emergency.
+ Utilize and contribute to the Client Technologies Knowledgebase utilizing the KCS methodology.
+ Perform duties in accordance with established Service Level Agreements and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
+ Maintain IT security standards, including confidentiality.
+ Working knowledge of current Microsoft operating systems (Windows 10), Office 365, remote tools, service desk ticketing systems, and desktop and laptop hardware.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ A high school diploma or general equivalency AND demonstrated experience in end user IT support.
The selected candidate will be required to pass the required background checks (fingerprinting may be required) as a condition of employment.
