Job Summary:The Workday Reporting Lead will oversee and manage the creation, development, and maintenance of custom and delivered reports in Workday, collaborating with various teams to ensure optimal reporting solutions. This role involves managing a portfolio of reports, defining new reporting requirements, overseeing testing, and maintaining seamless integrations across various platforms. The Reporting Lead will also support business process improvements, assist with troubleshooting system errors, and provide help desk support to the organization. The position requires strong technical expertise in Workday, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills to drive initiatives across teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage Reports (40%)Oversee and manage both custom and delivered reports in Workday, including defining requirements for new reports. Maintain an inventory of reports, track their status (in production or development), and ensure all reporting needs are met. The role involves coordinating recurring report meetings, collaborating with report writers, and ensuring proper testing and delivery of reports, which may range from basic to complex, including advanced, matrix, and composite reports. Expertise in leveraging these reporting capabilities to design and deliver accurate, insightful reports is required. This includes developing and customizing reports that meet specific business needs, ensuring the efficient use of Workday's reporting tools, and applying best practices in report development. Additionally, manage report security across all stages of report lifecycle-development, testing, and maintenance. This includes defining and implementing access control measures to ensure that sensitive information is appropriately restricted based on role-based access, and maintaining the integrity of security protocols during the report creation and testing phases. Regularly review and update report security settings as part of ongoing maintenance to safeguard data.
- Security Administration (15%)Administer user roles and access in Workday, focusing on processes such as Hiring, Job Changes, and Terminations for all employees. Respond to role assignment and removal requests promptly to ensure secure, compliant access to the system.
- Integration Systems Management (10%)Support and monitor various integrations (e.g., banking, benefits, suppliers) for errors or failures. Troubleshoot integration issues and collaborate with relevant teams to ensure proper functionality of all integrations.
- Business Process Improvement (10%)Lead efforts for business process improvements, including making technical changes, overseeing testing processes, and migrating updates into production. Work to continuously improve reporting systems and related business workflows.
- Help Desk Support (10%)Respond to tickets submitted through the UG Help Desk, providing timely assistance on a variety of issues ranging from complex report requests to functionality guidance within the Workday platform.
- Lead or SME for Platform Implementations (10%)Act as the subject matter expert or lead for Workday reporting during other Performance & Innovation platform implementations. Lead report testing efforts and ensure alignment with business needs.
- Workday Case Management (5%)Log and track support cases with Workday, ensuring progress and resolution. Maintain effective communication with Workday support teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Access & Security:The Workday Reporting Lead requires access to the highest levels of system security, including access to and management of protected personal, payroll, banking, and supplier data.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in business administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, and three years of programming, system analysis, or work experience related to area of assignment or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
- Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in Information Technology Systems, particularly within a government environment and ERP Systems.
- 2+ years of experience working with Change Control processes, ideally within an enterprise-level environment.
- Experience using HR, finance, and payroll systems, including daily functions and data types.
- Strong experience working with sensitive data, including personal, financial, and transaction data.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong understanding of Workday Security, including roles, groups, and securable items.
- Experience in creating calculated fields within Workday.
- Experience with Workday reporting tools.
- Knowledge of HR, Finance, and Employee data elements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal), including documentation abilities.
- Proven ability to manage time and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong client relationship management skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to understand reporting needs and identify solutions.
- Ability to produce high-quality work under pressure, while multi-tasking and tight deadlines.
- Experience working directly with Workday Help Desk professionals to resolve issues.
- Understanding of Workday reporting best practices and methodologies.
- Proven experience in leading requirement gathering sessions and creating testing strategies.
- Experience with analytics tools and presenting data insights for decision-making.
- Ability to facilitate collaboration across teams and drive consensus.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle concepts.
