This customer-facing position will help DoT continue to strengthen partnerships with outside departments, ultimately leading to successful delivery of technology services and support. Under direction, is responsible for analyzing departmental technology requirements, coordinating the implementation of the technology systems within the departments, and overseeing the execution of service-level agreements between the departments and the Department of Technology (DoT); performs related duties as required. Examples of Work (Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all of the duties that may be performed.) Consults with department representatives to optimize the execution of the department's business processes, needs, and expectations as they relate to technology requirements and goals; Analyzes and reviews the department's technology requests ranging from help desk tickets to implementation of new systems; Prepares and monitors departmental budgets for information technology needs and drafts language for execution of the budget; Analyzes the current available third party systems to determine compatibility with, and adaptability to the department's needs and the City's technical capabilities; reviews and analyzes department requests for additional services and equipment to determine feasibility of obtaining resources; Collaborates with technical specialists in areas such as database, and programming to adapt systems to specific departmental requirements; identifies potential problems and recommends solutions; Coordinates the testing and implementation of departmental technical systems with Department of Technology staff, department personnel and/or consultants to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope; Prepares, monitors, modifies, and renews service-level agreements (SLAs) for City departments and third party vendors; evaluates and documents the systems' effectiveness, efficiency, ease of use, and fulfillment of objectives; provides post-implementation support for newly implemented systems; Assists in providing price proposals, software and hardware specifications for use in service-level agreements, budget planning, competitive bidding and procurements; Develops and submits information technology requests for application development and maintenance enhancements utilizing the appropriate documentation; Provides routine status reporting to senior leadership at City departments and the Department of Technology on current and proposed information technology initiatives; Prepares advisory findings for senior leadership in the director's office at the Department of Technology on all pertinent matters relating to the application of information technology within their assigned department(s); Attends seminars and participates in training to remain current with information technology principles and practices. Minimum Qualifications Possession of a bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience evaluating and implementing technology systems for business solutions. Substitution(s): Additional experience as listed above may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis. Possession of a master's degree may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
