GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORKUnder the supervision of the Director I - Information Technology (IT), the Information Technology Inventory Control Specialist provides clerical/bookkeeping, inventory, and warehouse support to the staff of the Information Technology Department. Additionally, this position maintains and updates the school division's equipment inventory database. This includes barcoding all computer equipment (including but not limited to computers, laptops, printers, scanners, etc.) and other equipment within the division valued at $500 and above. This also includes all vehicles and kitchen equipment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare requisitions as requested by the Director I - Information Technology
- Receive merchandise and prepare invoices for payment of items received
- Prepare weekly absentee report for IT Department
- Assist in ordering, receiving, and maintaining equipment in the IT warehouse
- Prepare/barcode equipment as received
- Issue equipment as requested by IT personnel for various schools/departments
- Enter detailed information into asset management database system
- Update database as changes are received from IT personnel
- Prepare equipment to be discarded and remove information from current database
- Coordinate with Director I - Information Technology on equipment removal from schools and/or various departments
- Coordinate with recycling company in scheduling pick-ups for discarded equipment
- Coordinate with fixed asset management software company on division inventory scans
- Prepare inventory reports as requested by various departments
- Work with Director I - Finance to prepare yearly auditor reports for assets over $5000 and major property improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Thorough knowledge of inventory database software, shipping/receiving practices, and clerical/bookkeeping skills
- Ability to work with all levels of division employees and vendors
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by business courses
- Bachelor's degree in business-related field or higher, preferred
- At least two (2) years of work experience in progressively responsible clerical roles
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND WORK CONTACTSWork is typically performed in an office or warehouse setting. Significant standing, walking, moving, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., and bending is required to prepare/barcode and inventory equipment. Occasional travel to schools and other departments within the division. Occasional department needs may require working beyond normal office/work hours. Daily contact is made with employees, vendors, and IT personnel by telephone, via email, and in writing.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT12 months (260 days); 8 hours per day
