Information Technology (IT) Intern Stafford, VA The Information Technology (IT) Intern will support the technology department and gain valuable experience to apply to their career. The IT Intern will aid in providing support for any IT related products or issues as well as assisting the senior IT staff in support of various ongoing and project related activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Work on AI-related projects that involve data collection, analysis, and automation of network monitoring tasks using machine learning models.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings to discuss emerging AI technologies.
- Stay up to date with the latest networking protocols, AI advancements, and cybersecurity trends, sharing relevant insights with the team.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff to ensure network security through the implementation of VPNs, encryption protocols, and access control lists (ACLs).
- Support the deployment of AI-driven network optimization tools, including anomaly detection, traffic pattern analysis, and automation of routine network tasks.
- Document network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
- Stay updated on industry trends in networking, security, and AI, and contribute ideas for process improvements.
- Create, maintain, and update email distribution lists and list membership.
- Set-up and configure user's computers and other IT supported devices.
- Maintain and update IT equipment, software and license inventory reports.
- Provide support for special projects that are related to these systems and products.
- Provide support for Corps Solutions IT networks, servers, and vendors.
- Other duties as assigned by IT Director.
EDUCATION - Working towards associate or bachelor's degree in information technology
- Basic understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and subnetting.
- Familiarity with network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Exposure to cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure) and AI services is a plus.
- Exposure to AI concepts such as machine learning, data analysis, and automation.

- Working knowledge of end-user computer programs, technologies and applications.
- Ability to provide hands on support for setup of computer systems and troubleshooting of problems as needed.
- Ability to convey complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand format.
- Strong communication and presentation skills. Able to design and write clear communications and present training programs in English.
- Proficient in computer applications such as Windows and MS Office

WORKING CONDITIONS - Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus
- Daily travel in local area during workday (including use of personal vehicle)
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS - This is a part time position
- This is a paid internship that requires 10 - 20 hours a week
- Hours would be within 8 am - 4pm, but flexible based on existing school or work schedule
