Period.Location: Huntsville, AL Schedule: Full-Time/ExemptPosition Description:Gray Analytics is seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Lead to oversee and manage the information technology infrastructure and operations for a Federal Defense Contractor. This role requires a seasoned IT professional with expertise in federal contracting, compliance standards, and secure system architectures. The IT Lead will play a critical role in driving the migration of systems to government-approved cloud platforms, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency while managing cross-functional teams to maintain mission-critical systems.Key Responsibilities:1. Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and execute IT strategies aligned with organizational goals and federal compliance mandates.
- Serve as a technical advisor to senior leadership on IT-related matters, including cloud migration
2. Cloud Migration & Management:
- Lead the migration of on-premises systems and applications to government-approved cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure Government).
- Develop detailed migration plans, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Implement and manage cloud-based solutions in compliance with federal security standards, such as FedRAMP, NIST 800-171, and CMMC
- Optimize cloud infrastructure to improve scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency
3. Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including hybrid cloud environments, networks, and end-user systems.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of all IT systems to support mission-critical operations.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, addressing bottlenecks and ensuring compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs).
4. Cybersecurity Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to federal security standards such as NIST 800-171, CMMC, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive government data and cloud environments.
- Conduct regular audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk analyses to mitigate potential threats in both on-premises and cloud environments.
5. Project Management:
- Lead IT projects, including cloud migration, new system implementations, upgrades, and integrations, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and success criteria.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party service contracts related to cloud services.
6. Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide hands-on support for complex technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices for on-premises and cloud operations.
- Train staff on the proper use of systems and tools, emphasizing compliance and security.
Basic Qualifications:Education:
- Bachelor's degree indegree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing cloud migrations and working in a federal contracting environment
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in government-approved cloud platforms (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Microsoft Azure Government).
- Strong knowledge of federal compliance standards, including FedRAMP, NIST, DFARS, and CMMC.
- Proficiency in managing enterprise IT systems, hybrid cloud environments, and cybersecurity frameworks.
Key Competencies:
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-security environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Azure certifications are highly desirable.
Other Requirements:
- Candidate must be a US citizen and must be a resident of the Huntsville, AL area (or willing to relocate)
Security Requirements:
- Candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance (active Secret clearance preferred).
