MDC has more than 65 outside sales representatives, as well as additional sales support, reporting to regional offices. The company's sales efforts extend further through a worldwide distribution network. A staff of approximately 70 associates are in MDC's corporate headquarters.
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced IT Manager to oversee our organization's technology infrastructure, support operations, and lead our IT initiatives. The IT Manager will ensure seamless day-to-day technical operations while driving long-term technology strategies.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in Microsoft 365, VMWare, and managing on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure. They will also excel in managing a small, motivated IT team and fostering a reliable and secure IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Leadership: Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
• Helpdesk Support: Oversee the helpdesk to ensure prompt resolution of technical issues and maintain service-level agreements (SLAs).
• Infrastructure Management:
o Manage and maintain on-premises servers, network equipment, and cloud-based systems.
o Configure, monitor, and update hardware, software, and systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Virtualization and Cloud Services: Administer and optimize VMWare and Microsoft 365 environments to align with organizational needs.
• Network Administration: Oversee LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, and wireless networks, ensuring robust security and performance.
• Cybersecurity:
o Develop and enforce cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive data.
o Conduct risk assessments, incident responses, and regular updates to disaster recovery plans.
• Project Management:
o Lead IT projects, including upgrades, deployments, and technology rollouts.
o Collaborate with various departments to align IT initiatives with business goals.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems and provide regular performance updates to senior leadership.

Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience:
o Minimum of 6 years in IT roles, with 2+ years in leadership positions.
o Experience managing multi-location IT environments.
• Technical Proficiency:
o Expertise in Microsoft 365, VMWare, Windows Server environments, and Active Directory.
o Knowledge of LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
• Skills:
o Strong project management and problem-solving abilities.
o Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
o Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
• Ability to lift IT equipment (up to 50 lbs).
• Willingness to travel by plane, less than 10%, to branch locations as needed.
• Flexibility for occasional evening or weekend work during system upgrades or emergencies.
