This role is remote, but the PM must be ok with occasional travel for critical project meetings.

Position Overview

Our non-profit client needs an experienced IT Project Manager for a contract engagement to manage multiple critical projects during a major transformation initiative. There is a reorganization happening that aims to better align departments and employees with the new business strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong project management experience who would like to work in a Mission-based organization that fosters the education and advancement of PreK-12 students.

Essential Functions

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and dependencies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle in a timely and productive manner.
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure adherence to established schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate and communicate project status updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams involved in application and infrastructure projects, providing guidance and support.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and partners, as necessary, to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure quality assurance processes are executed to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Utilize Clarity PPM to manage projects, including timelines, budgets, resources, and risks including creating and updating project schedules, managing resource allocation, and tracking status and progress through regular reporting and monitoring.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and/or a Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field, or a minimum of 8 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Strong organizational transformation/change management experience preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in IT or SDLC project management
  • 3+ years managing IT/Enterprise projects (delivered on-time, meeting client expectations/requirements with high team satisfaction).
  • 2+ years using Microsoft Project or similar project management software tool.
  • Experience reporting out to C-Suite
  • Experience with a PPM system such as Clarity (preferred) or other PPM tool is a plus.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experienced PM w/executive presence and ability to command an audience
  • Strong ability to synthesize decision points and action items in a highly concise & articulate manner
  • Coalesce cross-functional teams' competing priorities into a cohesive project plan
  • Program management experience a plus
  • Champion of and highly adept at PMO best practices
