Brief Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Technology Project Manager to complete the delivery of technology & infrastructure projects .

The IT Infrastructure Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects related to the Medisys Health Network IT infrastructure. This role involves coordinating resources, managing budgets and timelines, and ensuring the successful delivery of technology solutions that support the Medisys Health Network strategic objectives. This role requires a highly organized and process-oriented individual who can effectively coordinate with internal departments, including Information Technology Services and Capital Planning & Facilities, as well as manage relationships with external contractors and vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute IT Infrastructure related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including net new , technology refreshes, and the implementation of changes.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the Medisys Health Network to understand project requirements, provide regular updates, and ensure alignment with Medisys Health Network standards and strategic objectives. Facilitate communication between technical teams, vendors, and other Medisys Health Network departments to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, including the development of Request for Proposals (RFPs), contract negotiations, and ensuring vendor compliance with project specifications and Medisys Health Network standards. Coordinate internal resources and third-party contractors/vendors to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Develop and initiate Request for Proposals (RFPs) for external vendors in a process-oriented and repeatable environment. Manage all aspects of vendor engagement, from proposal submission to contract awarding, ensuring adherence to Medisys Health Network standards, design specifications, and best practices.
  • Direct and oversee the work of external vendors in the execution of design specifications and implementation of IT Infrastructure technologies. Ensure successful deployment of these technologies, particularly in the context of Medisys including net new , technology refreshes, and the implementation of changes. Facilitate coordination between vendors and internal departments to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT Infrastructure project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues. Work closely with internal departments, including Facilities, HR, and administrative departments, to align project execution with the Medisys Health Network strategic goals and infrastructure needs. Ensure clear communication and coordination between all involved parties.
  • Educate and enforce Medisys Health Network standards, quality of service, and documentation practices among external vendors. Ensure that all IT Infrastructure implementations meet or exceed Medisys Health Network expectations.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes, ensuring a repeatable and efficient approach to managing IT Infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-implementation reviews. Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as needed by the department and defined by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required; Master's degree preferred. Significant work experience would be considered in lieu of advanced degree requirement. PMP or similar project management certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience managing complex IT infrastructure projects preferably within an academic or research environment.
  • Strong understanding of IT Infrastructure technologies/infrastructure including design specifications, standards, and best practices is required; additional knowledge of advanced AV system design/build requirements would be highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and vendors simultaneously; must be highly skilled in managing multiple tasks within a dynamic, team-centric environment and capable of adeptly prioritizing workloads based on urgency, volume, and other pertinent factors.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail is required. Successful candidate must also be committed to delivering high-quality results within established timelines, budget and scope.
  • Exceptional communication skills, adept at fostering productive collaboration across diverse teams (both internal and external), and proficient in conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders with clarity and precision.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds, including students, faculty, and staff, in support of cultivating a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills; a high degree of integrity relative to data security and confidentiality of information required.
  • Team player with excellent consulting skills and a fun but professional presence required.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays on an as-needed basis to meet the demands of the role and ensure operational effectiveness.

Required Criteria

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/related field

* Work experience of at least 3 years in Information Technology/related field

* Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

* Excellent Organizational and Analytical Skills

* Ability to conceptualize, plan, and implement projects as well as interact effectively with applications in complex problem situations.

Preferred Criteria

* PMP Certification

* Microsoft and other technology industry certifications

* Compliant with Change Control policies, familiar with Ticketing systems, ability to manage communications associated with project roll outs.

* Experience with IT architecture planning, software development methodologies and large scale integrated web systems implementations and upgrades in enterprise environment.

* Deep and broad understanding of web and mobile technologies, such as Reporting/BI tools, SharePoint .

* Comfortable leading team using Agile SCRUM software development methodology.

* Experience with selecting and managing external software vendors.

* Applications: Tableau; Statistical Application Fluency (SAS, SPSS, Python ML, Scala, Spark ML, etc.)

Work Location: 8900 Vanwyck Expressway, Jamaica, NY 11418

Work Schedule: Hybrid with 2 remote days after 90 days from start date

Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 annually (open to negotiation based on experience)
